Corporate Parties – Summer is Best Served on the Terrace

Corporate parties needn’t be reserved for special occasions, but are to be enjoyed ALL year round. They are a great way to thank your team for all of their hard work and dedication; and an even better way to let everyone get to know each other better.

We don’t want to jinx things and scare it away, but Summer has been knocking, NO, BANGING, on our door; and we have been silly excited to open it. The suntan lotion has been bought back out and our sun hats are at the ready. I personally like to think of sun hats the same way I like to think of my summer parties; that is to go big or go home. Now with the heatwave we have been basking in this past week, we have been craving some of those indulgences that simply only work during the long, hot, summer months.

Working all day while the sun is beating down outside can be a bit of a depressing thought, so why not consider treating your staff to a corporate party in an open-air setting. There’s definitely more reasons to go ahead and ply your team with great food and drink than there is not to; and with beautiful sun filled days like these, you will want to get started early enough to enjoy every possible blissful moment of sunshine. Don’t let your guests go home hungry, or they might be going home sooner than you think! Food is one of, or possibly even THE, most important element of a corporate summer party. Especially for those that start straight after a busy day at work. Everyone’s stomachs are growling ready for dinner and food will always be top of their minds. So make sure you keep your guests happy and sated with some home comforts; and make sure you provide options that suit everyone.

Sit down meals are a fabulous way to create intimacy and incite conversation, but we are just LOVING the barbecue weather right now. The summer has only truly arrived once the barbecue has been lit; and after more than half a year of trying to warm ourselves up with filling winter warmer dishes, the taste is to die for. There’s no limit on how many burgers I would be willing to eat in one sitting. Well, burgers, sausages, ribs, grilled Halloumi, sizzling summer vegetables, the list is endless.

Food is also great for soaking up some of those refreshing icy cold cocktails, which of course we want to see loads more of when the heat is turned up! In fact we all want to see a lot more of anything cool and liquid when the sun comes out. Corporate parties are all about letting your hair down and relaxing and what could be more relaxing than sitting out on the sun-soaked terrace with an ice cold drink in hand. Absolute bliss.

When planning your corporate summer party, it is important to consider the ambience and mood. Of course, music always comes top of the list for setting the right mood. Parties where you want your guests to mingle together don’t often need seriously loud, banging tunes drowning out everyone’s conversations. Well, not until a bit later into the night anyway. A little light background music however, always goes down a treat. Some relaxing music in the early evening can always become a full on dance party later in the night. So select your genre and playlist for your corporate parties with that in mind.
