Reasons to celebrate the Autumn

We all know that one person who is still in denial about summer being over. If you can’t spot this person then it’s most probably YOU. Symptoms include listening to summer playlists on loop; refusing to wear coats, full stop; and continuing to order iced drinks from your local coffee shop.

If you’re suffering from any of these symptoms then fear not! This new season brings us many festivities and celebrations that will help distract you from the grim weather of autumn…

One of the first events of autumn to mark in your calendars is, of course, Halloween. Forget the children, this ‘holiday’ is becoming increasingly popular amongst adults, with gresume costumes, pumpkin lanterns and decorations to die for (get it?!); Halloween themed parties are well and truly back!

This event is closely followed by Guy Fawkes Night – a chance to enjoy firework displays that seemingly get more spectacular and elaborate each year. There’s nothing better than gathering with a group of friends to celebrate the occasion and let’s face it, take advantage of a colour filled sky at someone else’s expense!

Lastly, the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, is another celebration that many of us nationwide will be anticipating. Every year communities around the UK organise events that give the public a chance to try out a diverse array of cuisines from the Indian subcontinent as well as take part in fun-filled events centred around the biggest festival in the Hindu calendar.
