Birthday Party Themes for Grown Ups
September 20, 201710 lesser known facts about December (and Christmas)
November 27, 2017It’s that odd time of the year… Summer has gone, but winter is not quite here. Christmas is around the corner, but it’s not quite time to break out the eggnog or start having mulled wine for breakfast just yet. It’s not warm, but it’s not truly cold. It’s not bright sunshine, but it’s not dark at 4 o’clock… It’s that bit in between when we sit twiddling our thumbs, waiting for the next part of the year to unfold. So with all that time on your hands from not celebrating the summer or the winter, what can you do? Here’s 5 things to keep you busy…
Set a reminder on your phone
Why? To make sure you’re not late for work next Monday of course. With the clocks going back this weekend, there’s every chance you’ll forget and end up rolling into work at 10 am on Monday morning wondering why everyone else seems to be halfway through their morning already.
Start saving a bit of extra money for Christmas
You do it every year but you never learn. December arrives and you suddenly remember you need to buy presents for everyone and do the obligatory “every night’s a reason to celebrate” drinking marathon on the run up to Christmas. Then there’s the office Christmas party, that bit in between Christmas and New Year when you have to do something to take your mind off going back to work and don’t forget New Year’s Eve. All that costs money and you normally run out of it about a week before the main event but not this year. Plan ahead and put some extra money aside now so that you won’t have to scrimp when the Christmas festivities really begin.
Start dropping hints to your loved ones about what you want for Christmas
There’s nothing worse on Christmas day, than opening those much-anticipated Christmas presents only to find a load of underwear, socks or worse – deodorant gift boxes. But whose fault is that really? I mean, if you only started dropping subtle hints a couple of weeks before Christmas, the decision could already have been made. Starting the process now means your loved ones can be suitably brain-washed before they embark on their Christmas shopping activities, making for a much happier Christmas day experience.
Buy some extra warm winter clothes
It may not be super cold right now, but it will be very soon. Get ahead of the game and order some super snuggly, extra thick, extra furry clothes so that on the day the weather does turn, you’ll be that smug one that rolls into the office nice and toasty whilst your friends are all shivering around the broken office radiator.
Book your Christmas office party
Now, really this should have been done in September but if you’ve not done it yet, then you definitely need to GET IT BOOKED THIS WEEK. Those that leave it late end up with the venues that nobody else wants, the overpriced menus that no-one thinks are good value and the dates that are nowhere near Christmas at all. Is that what you want for your Christmas office party? We thought not. But fear not, we still have a few spaces left on the run up to Christmas at the Chapel Bar- London’s No.1 private party venue. You can find details about our venue here and download our Christmas menu selection here. But perhaps a much better way to find out if our venue is right for your Christmas office party is to book in for a tour so why not give us a call today on 020 7833 4090.
